Following the chronological block structure and design guidelines of this collection, the album dedicated to Manuel Altolaguirre includes a biography of the poet by James Valender, which outlines a comprehensive tour through the different stages of his life, marked, as that of so many Spanish intellectuals of his generation, by exile. Many of the images and documents (manuscripts, letters, books) that are reproduced in this album come from the Residencia itself, where the Manuel Altolaguirre and Concha Méndez archive is deposited by express wish of their heiress, Paloma Altolaguirre. In addition, the book will collect a large set of images scattered in institutions and private collections from the places where Altolaguirre lived.
