This catalog is the indispensable publication commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Misiones. Co-published by the Sociedad Estatal para Commemoraciones Culturales and the Residencia de Estudiantes, under the supervision of Eugenio Otero, curator of the exhibit, the catalog includes an extensive chronology of the Misiones, the frame for essays on the Misiones’ specific activities.

The catalog follows the structure of the exhibit’s sections: Misiones Pedagógicas, the main characters involved, libraries, the Museo del Pueblo, Film, Music, Theatre, the Coro del Pueblo, the Retablo de Fantoches, the international context of the Misiones, and its photographs.

Each section is divided into sections studied by experts, such as Xosé Luis Axeitos, Manuel Aznar Soler, Valeriano Bozal, José Ignacio Cruz Orozco, Nigel Dennis, Horacio Fernández, María García Alonso, Jordana Mendelson, Víctor Pliego de Andrés, Alfonso Puyal, Gonzalo Sáenz de Buruaga, Ramón Salaberría, and Eugenio Otero Urtaza.

It also includes reminisces by Luis Álvarez Santullano, Pablo de Andrés Cobos, Enrique Azcoaga, Alejandro Casona, Américo Castro, Luis Cernuda, Carmen Conde, Leopoldo Fabra, Eduardo García Maroto, Raúl González Tuñón, José Marzoa, Gonzalo Menéndez Pidal, María Moliner, Juan José Plans, Laura de los Ríos and Arturo Serrano Plaja.

The volume has two appendices: the list of the Misiones and misioneros, books and documents in the exhibit, and a names index. It includes a CD with songs performed by the Misiones choirs, conducted by Eduardo Martínez Torner. The songs were first recorded in four slate records, in 1934.
