Zenobia Camprubí. Epistolario I
Cartas a Juan Guerrero Ruiz, 1917-1956
Edición de Graciela Palau de Nemes y Emilia Cortés Ibáñez

[2006]

With the cooperation of the Sociedad Estatal de Conmemoraciones Culturales and the Fundación Cajasol

Zenobia Camprubí has always been the great-unknown person in Juan Ramón Jiménez' inner circles. She was his proofreader, editor, wife and partner. Her personal papers, preserved in the archives of the Sala Zenobia-Juan Ramón at the University of Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, are undoubtedly one of the great discoveries in the project to recover the legacy of documents left by Spaniards in exile. Professors Emilia Cortés Ibanez and Graciela Palau de Nemes edited this immense volume, which includes 693 letters. In its pages can be found the correspondence between Zenobia and Juan Guerrero, a friend of the couple and of many of the members of the Generation of 27. Federico García Lorca called him "the consul of poetry". Guerrero wrote for several journals and literary supplements and published a book on the poet from Moguer: Juan Ramón de viva voz.
