La voz de Olga Orozco

[2003]

Olga Orozco (Toay, La Pampa, 1920 - Buenos Aires, 1999), Premio Juan Rulfo de Literatura, 1998, read her poetry at the Residencia de Estudiantes on April 20th,1992 and on June 9th, 1997.

This volume contains her second reading in which Orozco summarizes her obsessions and beliefs, and describes the rituals of writing her poetry which arises from areas beyond logic explanations.

According to Orozco, poetry is “an ongoing question that always takes you a little further, towards the beyond, the origin or end of anything, close or far away….”

Her poems express “the unfulfilled love’s desire that remains as an absence moving from poem to poem.” Author of twenty poetry books, Orozco reads and makes comments about what troubles her during the creative process.
