Juan Larrea. Epistolario.
Cartas a David Bary, 1953-1978
Edición de Juan Manuel Díaz de Guereñu

[2004]

Juan Larrea (Bilbao, 1895 - Córdoba, Argentina, 1980) was related to Creacionismo, a literary movement founded by Chilean poet Vicente Huidobro and Spanish poet Gerardo Diego.

This volume collects the letters written by Larrea to hispanista David Bary (San Francisco, 1924).The Basque poet was sixty years old then, and their correspondence went on for twenty five years. His letters, perhaps due to his age, expressed his wish to recount his experiences, to preserve and to pass on data and writings for their study.

Juan Manuel Díaz de Guereñu is professor at the University of Deusto, San Sebastian campus. He has published La poesía de Juan Larrea. Creación y sentido (1988), Juan Larrea: versiones del poeta (1995), Poetas creacionistas españoles (1999) y Cloc. Historias de arte y desarte (1978-1981) (1999). He is the author of critical editions of Luis Piñer, Gabriel Celaya, Juan Larrea, Fernando Aramburu and Emilio Prados. He has published essays on Eugenio Imaz, Juan Rulfo, Pío Baroja, Alfonso Sastre, Rafael Alberti, Gerardo Diego and Luis Buñuel, among others.
