La voz de Ángel González

[2008]

Ángel Gonzalez, an essential Spanish poetic voice of the second half of the twentieth century, read a selection of his poems, with revealing comments about his work, in May, 1989. He highlighted his autobiographical poems, those with the passing of time as theme, and the “metapoético” poems, “poems about writing a poem.” In June, 2001, he read at the Residencia again to mark the publication of his book, Otoños y otras luces, inspired by “fall, that beautiful season that is also the time of the end of life.” La Voz de Ángel González reproduces both readings in full.

POESIA EN LA RESIDENCIA is a living document, the voice of the great contemporary Hispanic poets who have been presenting their readings since 1988, when Rafael Alberti opened these series. Each volume includes a CD, a transcript, and a brief biography of the poet.
