The historic magazine Residencia was the only publication, in those days, that reflected the spirit of the Residencia de Estudiantes in his early years and that offered thorough information on the activities developed between 1926 and 1934. This new edition, as the two previous ones already sold out, gathers the magazine’s twenty issues published under the guidance of Alberto Jiménez Fraud.

Its pages contain texts and summaries of the conferences given at the Auditorium of the Residencia by distinguished visitors such as Marie Curie, Albert Einstein, Paul Valéry, Gilbert K. Chesterton, H. G. Wells o John M. Keynes; literary contributions from Juan Ramón Jiménez or Azorín and scientific ones from Blas Cabrera or Pío del Río-Hortega among others; news of the competitions, concerts or trips organized at the Residencia, as well as articles on the initiatives like the undergraduate Mediterranean cruise or the pedagogical missions that took culture to isolated areas strongly related to the new pedagogical model of which the Residencia was one the greatest exponents.

The magazine also stands out for its typographic design and its illustrations among which there are drawings, portraits and advertisements made by Salvador Dalí, Benjamín Palencia or José Moreno Villa, together with many photographs.

The multidisciplinary character of the magazine and the timeless nature of the great majority of topics covered by Residencia make it valid for nowadays reader’s interest.
