El mundo poético de Rafael Alberti
Soledad Salinas
[2004]
With the cooperation of the Sociedad Estatal de Conmemoraciones Culturales
Soledad Salinas analyzes the first five titles published by Rafael Alberti (Marinero en tierra, La amante, El alba del alhelí, Cal y canto y Sobre los ángeles), which, according to the author, contain the keys to the meaning and poetic preferences underlining Alberti’s work. This monograph, published by Editorial Gredos in 1968, has become a reference book that also explores the literary sources of the poet, from the “cancioneros castellanos” to Baudelaire and the European avant-garde.
This new edition, revised by the author, has been enriched with an updated bibliography, a names index and three letters written by Alberti, one of them to the author in February, 1969, in which Alberti defined this book as “the first serious and important book written about me.”
