Co-published with the Fundación María Zambrano

Catalog of the exhibition organized by the Residencia de Estudiantes, the Ministry of Culture, the Fundación María Zambrano, and the Sociedad Estatal de Commemoraciones Culturales to commemorate the 100th anniversary of María Zambrano’s birth.

This volume aims to become the reference work about the versatile and brilliant work of this philosopher from Malaga. The exhibition and its catalog are part of a process to recover Zambrano and her work and return them to their rightful place in Spanish culture. The process began in the early 1980s and gained momentum in 1988, when she won the Premio Cervantes.

The catalog shows the remarkable coherence in her life, thought and writings. It includes essays by prestigious specialists on Zambrano, and important documents, such as some of her unpublished writings and her correspondence with Antonio Machado, Rosa Chacel, and Albert Camus. Reyna Rivas bequeathed these documents to the Residencia.
